The last 2019 Guild Wars 2 update comes with modifications regarding the Wintersday event and several game systems. Wintersday is a recurring event but that doesn't mean that it is the same every year. A lot has changed since last year's winter celebration. Players can now rapidly get to the celebration area thanks to the announcement mail invitation. If you cannot find your invitation, go to Sarettokk in Lion's Arch to get a new one. The reward for completing the Wintersday Traditions meta-achievement is a festive sweater item.
If you've missed last year's reward, look for it at the event vendors. Players can choose between group or matchmaking for the Secret Lair of the Snowmen. This activity is now a strike mission. Players have the chance to get Rimed Verdant weapons from gifts. If you open a certain number of gifts, you are guaranteed to get a weapon. You might also get miniatures from gifts.
The reindeer and snowflake miniatures might drop from gifts. However, you have a better shot at obtaining them from the Secret Lair of the Snowmen. They are also purchasable from the rewards vendor. The popular mount race that takes place in Divinity's Reach now has a new checkpoint and adventure.
You can easily keep track of the daily karma bonuses thanks to the daily bonus reward achievements. If you want to exchange your snow diamonds for some goodies, check out the weekly vendor in Divinity's Reach. There have been some changes to the number of gift rewards. Players will get more event gift rewards from daily achievements and event activities such as Bell Choir, Snowball Mayhem, and the easy route in Winter Wonderland. The hard route rewards 12 gifts down from 15. You can get the Saving Wintersday achievement from the Secret Lair of the Snowmen as well.
The guild decoration selection now contains candy-cane items. You can get access to the skin for the Rime-Rimmed Mariner's Rebreather apparatus in the wardrobe. If you have an old apparatus, equip it or trade it for a new one to unlock the skin. If bugs have prevented you from enjoying the event in the past, you will be glad to know that things should run much smoother now. The bug that kept Oppressive Darkness on players that left Raven Sanctum via waypoint has been fixed. Non-legendary runes of the same kind will not be considered towards the multiple pieces bonus anymore. Some classes received attention as well.
