Time has come for Guild Wars 2 players to celebrate Wintersday. This is a winter-themed event that takes place each year in December. Tyria gets festive and players have the chance to take part in fun activities and to acquire all sorts of rewards. According to the game's lore, Wintersday is the celebration of the new year in Tyria. This is the time of the year when Tyria's residents celebrate the end of Season of the Colossus (winter) and welcome the Season of the Zephyr (spring). This year's Wintersday starts on December 17th and ends on January 7th. The city of Divinity’s Reach is getting a winter makeover. Decorations, snow, and a festive atmosphere envelop the city. Up in the sky, Toymaster Tixx's aircraft makes an appearance.
Unfortunately, things have gone out of control in Tixx's workshop. Toys that just won't listen and nasty skritt are interfering with the normal pace of the work. Players will band together to visit the workshop. They must take care of this situation. Players will also be tasked with a strike mission. They will travel to the realm of the snowmen and do whatever needs to be done. You can assemble a party or join a public group for this activity.
So far, it seems like Wintersday is not that different from a normal day in Tyria. Go there, do that. However, there is more to it. Mini-games allow players to have fun while participating in casual activities. There's the winter wonderland jumping puzzle where you will have to make your careful way from one snowflake to another. Join a game of toypocalypse where you have to help dolyaks. Snowball mayhem is all about acquiring presents through any means. There's also the bell choir mini-game.
Take part in these casual games and you will be handsomely rewarded. You will also get and give presents. The orphans of Divinity’s Reach are eagerly waiting for their gifts.
